What is the Pursuit of Excellence?

The Pursuit of Excellence is the world's premier program for honouring excellence and unshakable ethical standards in funeral service. Recipient firms are provided high-profile, international recognition for their outstanding service, professional integrity and dynamic public relations programs.

The Pursuit of Excellence program was created by NFDA (National Funeral Directors Association) in 1981 as a competition in excellence.

 

In 1990, Nelson Bros Funeral Services was the first funeral company outside North America to win the award. What's more, we repeated our success with the Eagle Award in 1991 and 1992. After this triple success, NFDA bestowed Emeritus Status on Nelson Bros.

We are proud of this historic international success and recognition, highlighting our focus on professional quality care for all families we serve.
