Australia's oldest family businesses

Nelson Bros Funeral Services has been recognised by Family Business Australia as Australia' s oldest family-owned funeral company and one of the 12 oldest family businesses in the nation.
The Chairman of Family Business Australia, David Haymes of Haymes Paints, invited the 12 oldest family businesses to Darwin to share stories, wisdom, and celebrate their longevity.
Adrian Nelson attended the celebratory lunch on behalf of the Nelson family, with other family businesses including Lionel Samson & Sons from W.A. (founded 1829), Murphy' s Transport, Fagg' s Hardware, Brown Brothers wines, Akubra Hats, and Selkirk Bricks and Pavers, amongst others.
The businesses were identified after an extensive search by FBA. Nelson Bros is proud of its long history and to be recognised in such company.
Nelson Bros now provides an online memorial for each family and funeral.
