RACV Great Australia Rally
January 18, 2009
Nelson Bros 1926 Buick hearse was a major talking point at this year' s RACV Great Australia Rally.
About 700 veteran, vintage and classic cars have made their way from Melbourne to Mornington in a bid to raise money for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
The 11th Great Australian Rally hopes to raise more than $50,000 for the centre, including its Claire Oliver Melanoma Fund.
The cars left Docklands, Rowville and Hastings before going on display to the public at the Mornington racecourse at 11:00am. Once we arrived, many people were fascinated by our hearse and amazed at the quality of its restoration.
Organiser Colin Brown says the earliest car on show dated back to 1896.
