Supporting Returned Veterans on ANZAC Day
April 25, 2010In honour of our returned servicemen and women, Nelson Bros is assisting this year' s ANZAC Day Parade in the City of Melbourne. The Commemoration Parade was first held in Melbourne in 1915 when a few hundred returned servicemen marched from Prices Bridge to St Patrick’ s Cathedral for a service.

Caulfield Hospital ANZAC Commemoration
April 22, 2010Nelson Bros is the proud supporter of Caulfield Hospital' s annual ANZAC Commemoration Service.
Caulfield Hospital has a long tradition of community service dating back to 1916 when the hospital was first established as an Army Hospital, providing vital healthcare services to returned servicemen and women from the First World War. Nearly 18,000 servicemen and women were treated at the hospital during WWI.

March 14, 2010Supporting the City of Wyndham and its annual Weerama Festival, Nelson Bros hosted the Afternoon Melodies Concert at the Wyndham Cultural Centre. Performing were singer Timothy McCallum and ballerina Danielle Scott.

Weerama Festival in the City of Wyndham
March 29, 2009This year' s annual Weerama Festival through the streets of Werribee once again featured our historic 19th century horse drawn hearse. Pulled by two black horses adorning feathered plumes, the hearse majestically completed the street parade.

Bush Fire Victim Assistance
February 12, 2009The Nelson family is incredibly saddened by the tragic bush fires in Victoria over the past week. Our thoughts go out to everyone affected by these fires.
In conjunction with the Federal and State Government authorities, cemeteries and crematoria, our florist Flowers Vasette, the Herald Sun, and other suppliers, Nelson Bros are able to provide funerals for bush fire victims at no cost to the family.
We have also offered assistance to local funeral directors who will be inundated with the high number of funerals over coming weeks and months. We believe that this is the best way we can assist those directly affected. -
