Asian Funerals

Established in the Victorian goldfields in the 1850s, Nelson Bros has conducted Buddhist funerals for over 160 years. In particular since the 1970s, many Asian immigrants moved to the western suburbs of Melbourne where we worked closely with them to understand their funeral and cultural requirements. 

Today we have close links with Buddhist temples, monks and associations across Melbourne. Our funeral home chapels are transformed into a Buddhist chapel for the funeral. 

We also acknowledge that there are many different Buddhist traditions, and we customise each service to meet the requirements of each individual Buddhist family.

When required, we have staff who speak Vietnamese, Chinese Mandarin, Cantonese, Teochow and Fujian to serve you.
